Call to Prayer

Letter to ALS Members

It has been 7 years since God has placed a burning passion on my heart for Asia and started the Asia Leaders Summit (ALS) with many of my Asian co-workers in Christ. I still believe this fellowship and network of Asian church leaders who share the vision and passion to empower Asian Churches will propagate the Kingdom of God not only in Asia but throughout the world.

With the worldwide outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), churches around the world are grappling with the new challenges of suspending services and closing churches. Christians are unable to gather for corporate worships. The situation is ever-evolving with unknown recommendations and restrictions.

I was deeply moved when I heard some testimonies of our church members that this unexpected crisis made them realize how precious it was to be able to worship God at church freely. For longing to worship at church, some members came to church only to find the doors locked. They put their hands on the building and prayed and returned home. It broke my heart to hear the story.

In the midst of these uncertainties and challenges, I would like to encourage and remind all of my brothers and sisters in Asia that suffering is a prelude to blessing. Through this time of trial and testing, the churches in Asia will emerge more united, the flaming fire of the Holy Spirit will burn in the hearts of Asian churches, and the Christian faith will be made stronger and shine like pure gold.

Our God is a good and gracious God and He loved us so much that He did not spare His only Son but sent Him to die on the cross for our sins. His goodness and mercy is still upon Asia even now.

I believe it is time for the Asian churches to rise up and pray. We must equip ourselves with absolute positivity and thanksgiving, and unite in prayer to break the strongholds of this virus and eradicate COVID-19.

We will certainly overcome these difficulties and be victorious over COVID-19.

Please let us know if you or your churches have any special prayer requests. We will pray with you and share it with other churches in our network.

In Christ,
